Data Center Consolidation: 3-Site Infrastructure Migration
Managed a 3-site data center consolidation for a regional financial services firm, completing migration ahead of schedule with zero unplanned downtime.
Embedded a senior infrastructure PM to own the full migration program — from inventory and dependency mapping through cutover sequencing and hypercare. Developed a phased migration schedule with defined rollback procedures for each workload. Coordinated across IT infrastructure, application owners, networking, and the co-lo provider to maintain communication and accountability.
All three sites fully decommissioned within 8 months. Zero unplanned downtime during any migration window. Annual infrastructure cost reduced by $620K. Program completed 3 weeks ahead of original schedule.
